Dear Maria Victoria Medina,
On behalf of President and Mrs. Carter, and all of us at The Carter Center, thank you so much for your gift in support of our Guinea Worm Eradication Program. As you requested, your contribution will be used specifically to assist Wodaabe tribes in Niger.
I have shared your letter and the photographs of your paintings with staff in our Global 2000 Program, which oversees all of our disease eradication efforts. I also plan to share them with President and Mrs. Carter when they are in Atlanta next, near the end of May. Everyone here who has seen the photos of your work (myself included) has been touched by their expressiveness and impressed by their detail. We are most grateful to you for sharing them, and for contributing a portion of the proceeds from their sale to The Carter Center.
